Further to the OE6 problem. I was successful with a two week restore, and OE6 worked for a few messages and then reverted to its greyed out unresponsive state.

I have tried the registry changes to force reinstallation of IE6 and OE6, and it caused no change to OE–still unresponsive ( and it can only be removed from the desktop by the Task Manager of Windows.
I tried reloading IE6 last night and it stopped at 87% of “Installing Internet Explorer 6 Web Browser” telling me the software has not passed Windows Logo Testing.
I have gone back to my Eudora until I can get this fixed.

    • in reply to: Audio Gone (XP Home OEM installation) #798945

I have reinstalled the Windows Media Player, I still have this hotfix of 17.5 mb on the add/remove panel, (maybe this is the WMP itself?), WMP is not on the add/remove panel.

The WAVE window in the Sounds and Audio panel says it is missing SndVol32.exe and asks me to install it in the add/remove panel.

      Ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions. I uninstalled WinAmp 2 versions, Live365 and tried to uninstall a Window Media Player Hotfix of 17.5 Mb, but it warned me not to so I didn’t. Then reloaded Windows Media Player 9 onto computer.

No audio, but the control panel audio section says it can’t open SndVol32.exe and I should use the add/remove to install it???

Since I have an OEM version, I have no XP Disk except the supplementary software program disk for other pieces of software like MSN, AOL, etc.

What suggestions now? ( For some reason WMP does not show up on the add/remove list)

      Thanks BigAlDoc.
I can’t seem to find anything in your excellent links about just changing the status of the corrputed to “sent” All the messages are ok which indicates the .MBX is ok, just the .TOC has corrupted.

      Hi Leif,
It is unlocked and it won’t move to the bottom where it was.

Are there more than one unlock places?

Maybe I should ask how to move it.

      Dear J and HansV,
Thank you very much. The suggestions worked very well. I found that my XP seemed to have Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library installed, for I could find no reference to it at all, so I just ignored the instruction given and it worked.

      Hello J,
Thanks for your suggestions. My client won’t (can’t ) change from using Word, because that is what his publisher in the monthly magazine wants. So I am stuck as I try to convert it to the Web Page. There are only 3 or 4 columns of numbers.

I followed your instructions until I got to the Star Post comment and could not find it here. Give me some more clues where I might find it if you would.

      Thanks for your complete response

Thanks to all who suffered through My Tables Problem. I used all your suggestions, and finally it fit into the width, and I left it alone.
