It’s already empty and, as far as I can tell, it’s in it’s original place. I think it’s just not delete-able! My music is safely in another folder on the E drive so it worked, thanks.

OOps….I have only deleted the Music folder. Can I just make another? It was too big for the recycle bin so it got completely deleted.

Update…the Music folder is still in my C drive and it’s empty, so apparently Windows won’t allow you to delete it.

Thanks. I did what you suggested and moved my Music folder but there were no options given, the files were copied over to E from C which defeats the object of recovering space on the C drive so I deleted the whole Music folder on C. I’m doing the same with my photos and it’s working a treat.

    • Sorry for the late response Ted and thank you. I had switched on automatic updates and eventually they did kick in and all the updates eventually presented themselves.

My gosh, I have been under the impression that MWBAM is the best you can get as it’s recommended everywhere and I use it on all the computers I clean up for family and friends but this thread has made me think again and, although I have never had any problems with it, I don’t think I’ll risk using it again.

Can anyone else endorse SuperAntispyware and is it free…….or is there another alternative?

    • in reply to: New version (1.50) of Malwarebytes anti-malware #1257288

OK, thanks. I still have Vista and have always just updated. I suppose it won’t do any harm to uninstall (I use revouninstaller) and install the latest. I’m a little freaked by the problems some people have had I have to say!

So why are you all uninstalling the old version first? I usually just allow the updater to do it’s stuff. Are you saying it’s better to uninstall the old version?

You talk about patches for Adobe Reader 9.4 but I downloaded Adobe Reader X last week so what gives?

Thanks Paul, and do I use http:// 192.168.2.1/ to get into the router home page?

If it goes again I will try this, but my point was that when I uninstalled two of the security updates, it reconnected so I’m assuming that they (or one of them) may have been the problem though I can’t understand how.

I use CC Cleaner’s start up options and I don’t have a problem. I always have to start Skype myself. I’m running Vista 32 bit home premium.

Thank you very much. I have emailed her the reply so she can click the link directly. I told her it wouldn’t take long. 🙂

    • in reply to: Google street view photography #1234452

I love it. We recently visited Cherbourg and viewed the Quayside and our hotel before we went. Now we go and look at the tables we sat at, remembering the meals we ate and the people we met. I have also visted places I lived years ago and been able to virtually “walk” along the street within the photos. Unfortunately, GoogleEarth usually crashes after I’ve “walked” for a while. Hopefully they will fix this issue soon.

    • in reply to: Malware got through MSE #1227959

I just want to ad my two pennyworth. Both my husband’s laptop and my desktop had MSE installed and he does nothing but play jigsaw games, google the odd item, read an online newspaper and visit EBay yet he began to get multiple pop ups. When I tried to open MSE on his machine it would not respond so I used malwarebytes which found 9 infections and removed them. The pop up problem remained however and MSE was still frozen so I uninstalled it with revouninstaller. I tried to reinstall MSE but the website would not open. In desperation I installed the free Avast AV and ran a full scan. It found a further 13 trojan infections and removed them. The laptop is now free of viruses and my husband says it runs faster than ever. I still have MSE on my desltop PC and so far I have no infections but if I get any I will use Avast.
