You can download the update directly from here http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/search.aspx?q=kb3189866. Download and then install it.

I’ll try this again later this week; maybe I didn’t clear the registry. We now return to our discussion of: images making 🙂

Download and run the TI cleanup tool that should fix it. https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668.

On Pro you can remove suggestions by going to Settings | Personalization | Start then set “Occasionally show suggestions on Start” to OFF. Isn’t that available on Home?

It is on my Win 10 Home AU edition and I have it set to off.

July 23, 2016 at 12:19 pm in reply to: “Locking in” the free Windows 10 upgrade and retaining my old Windows version. #1571373

Sorry, not very well explained was it?

I had intended to put the image on d.v.d.s, but since trying I have wondered if my external hard drive might be a better option.

No response yet from the Acronis forum, so I tried a free version of Macrium.

Again, it’s written for people with quite a bit of previous knowledge so I’m no better off.

The Macrium screen shows several things on my C drive and I have no idea which of them are required for a disc image.

I replied to your post in the Acronis Forum https://forum.acronis.com/forum/122715 as did another person.

I noticed that my settings differ slightly from yours. In the outgoing server I have smtp.googlemail.com port 587.

Try Revo Uninstaller Free http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. The link is near the bottom of the page.

I don’t see that issue with LO 5.1 on Windows 10. Right clicking and selecting Open works as does double clicking the file. In both cases the LO spreadsheet opens with the focus.

One of many reasons why I have not tried to use the Edge browser at all. Also no support for extensions even in the new update.

I have successfully used Knoppix Live CD to retrieve files from a suspect HD. Its bootable and hopefully you will be able to see the suspect drive. http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html. It should fit on a CD.

I have had this issue since I installed Win 10. I too am only able to make a recovery drive by unchecking the box to copy system files. I use a 16GB flash drive and tried more than one.

Imgburn http://www.winxdvd.com/resource/download-imgburn-free.htm mentioned in the link by Sudo15 is free and has no PUPs. You can avoid installing anything bundled with any free software by doing a custom install. And yes my Windows 10 has the right click “Burn Disc Image”.
