Thanks for the replies. I made one before and did not need to do another.

    • in reply to: cannot delete Users folder #1575221

I initially tried to delete the account as suggested by Coochin. The account did not appear in the User accounts. However, I was able to delete it in Safe Mode using the admin level account.

Thank you you all for help. It is appreciated.

I was having a problem with getting a message to the effect that my graphics driver had failed, but had recovered successfully. I did a little research and employed a fix from Microsoft using one of their fix-it wizards. It increased the GPU processing time by adjusting the Timeout Detection and Recovery registry value. (I kept the link). No problem with that error since. I thought of updating the driver, but didn’t mess with it since it was running. However, this computer (an HP desktop) may have a support program that installs new drivers, but I think I have it set to notification only.

I will get you the info you requested the thanks. I may have time today since my holiday plans have changed due to a big winter storm.

No disk cleaner active at boot.

I will run the collection method app. However, being a major holiday here in the USA (Super Bowl) it may not be until tomorrow sometime!

I tried that too. No file.

I cannot locate the MEMORY.DMP file. I searched for it. I also checked the Minidump Folder in Windows which was empty.

I am wondering how ESET.exe was involved. That is a file that I execute manually to run the ESET online scanner. I did not start the program and it cannot be configured to run on a schedule.

Thank you for the responses and the offer to analyze the file, but things seem to be running OK, so I think I will take the approach that RolandJS suggested. If it happens again I will repost. Thanks again.

      The event info is attached.

    • in reply to: Windows 7 Crashed and I Don’t Know why #1487392

Attached is a screenshot of recent events. I’m guessing the shutdown occurred around the 01/30/2015 6:37:57 PM point.

I did look in the Event Viewer as lumpy95 suggested. During the time period before the shutdown and during the reboot there were several errors and warnings. However, I’m not sure how to interpret these and none seemed to clearly state what happened.

I don’t recall there being any power fluctuations, but I can’t rule it out.

I got them done. Thanks to each of you for your advice. I really appreciate it.

    • in reply to: need assistance with Windows repair install #1483175

OK, that’s good. Anyone with suggestions on order of installation – type, date, etc?

    • in reply to: need assistance with Windows repair install #1483171

I completed the repair install successfully. I now have 180+ updates to install. I would appreciate suggestions on a strategy for proceeding. I would like to do the updates in chunks.
