In order to fix the problem, I used both AutoOpen and AutoNew. Is that the only way to do it?

    • in reply to: AutoExec Macro (2000) #587816

I found out and called it autonew. It works, but I want to know if this is the best way to go. Will it still be executed after creating a document in that template and opening it later?

    • in reply to: Assign Macro to Menu (2000) #587408

As far as I understand, it seems like when I assigned the macro to the menu, I did not do it in normal.dot. I have been told if I did it in normal.dot, I would not have any problem. Am I correct?

I did not store them in normal.dot. I store them in another template. I want to know if I copy normal.dot from one computer to anothere, will that erase any macro stored in normal.dot in the second computer.

If I save the change in normal.dot and copy it to another computer. Should that replace normal.dot from the other computer. I assume, I want to update normal.dot from the other computer, not replace. If I replace it, about macros that were already in normal.dot are there going to get deleted?

I thought it was possible to use Word Macro in Outlook since there is an option to select Word as the editor. What I will do, I will write some macro especially for Outlook. I will modify the macros.

Howard, it looks like you said the built in menu could be edited or changed, but how? You also stated that I could get permission from Microsoft to edit the .lex file. I will be looking to that. As far as I know, it seems like the .lex file is not 100% owned by Microsoft. If you try to open it in text mode, you can see that it is copyrighted by another company. Here is the text I get from the header.

I also understand that editing the .lex file is not possible. It is also proprietary. Am I correct?

The original article did not give any instruction on how to clear it.
