MS-DEFCON 2: Make sure Windows’ automatic updating is off!

Patch Tuesday lands tomorrow — take a few minutes to check all your Windows machines to ensure September’s updates won’t install until you’re ready for them.

August’s updates had a few unwelcome surprises; we’ll have to wait and see what September brings. If you’re running Win7, Win8.1, or Win10 Version 1903, putting off updates is easy. For older versions of Windows 10, life’s not quite as simple — especially on Win10 Home systems
