I am using macropod’s VBA code to update the source for the links in my word template.

My problem comes if I copy the word and excel file to a different location and run the macro. If I delete or move the original excel file then the macro works perfectly. However, if I do not delete the original excel file in the original folder, then I get an error saying that I cannot open 2 excel workbooks at the same time.

Is this unavoidable or am I doing something wrong?

I would like to keep the master word and excel file on a server so the user could just copy both files to their computer and run the macro to link it to the new location. But how I see it this will not work. Any help/ insight on this would be very much appreciated.
