I am a school “laptop technician” and we are just looking at next year’s models. We are obliged to get a particular brand – Toshiba – and have been told that the models on offer come with XPHome. We have been advised that our supplier’s technicians have been unable to get networking working with XPHome.
My question is, are the techs correct, or do they need to try harder? The school uses a Netware network, Netware Client32 with Lucent wireless network cards (Cabletron ‘Roamabout’ actually). To downgrade to Win98se will cost us about $US 90 per machine, and we would like to avoid that if possible. Any advice?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

[/indent] Yes, it supports “Peer To Peer” networking only, NO “Domain Server types”. Some VPN is possible but there are some of limits.
