    Hello,

I’m back to using Access 2003 again after several years hiatus and have created a simple relational database with only a few tables and forms and subforms based on queries on the tables. Having gotten everything to work fine, I’m now stumped. I’ve just added two boolean fields to the main table, but when I added enabled checkboxes for them on the main form, Access tells me “Control can’t be edited, it’s based on unknown field” & fieldname.

I’ve tried repairing and compacting the database (although it has only about 100 records), deleting and re-adding the fields, deleting and re-adding the checkbox controls (including dragging them from the field list onto the form), and compiling the VBA to no avail.

The database is only a few weeks old and hasn’t been edited all that much, so I am at a loss to understand what is causing this error.

    Any ideas?

I’m using a Samsung desktop running Windows 7.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.
