• Alignment in Table

I created a table for a web page using HTML. The left hand cell spans all rows and I put a bunch of links there, like a Nav Bar. How do I get the links to align at the top. They keep centering themselves in that cells which causes some of them to disappear as the page is long. I will also be adding an image to the top of this cell. So I want the image at the top and then the links all aligned to the top. Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks for any help.
