• All day events not showing (2002 SP-2)

Using Outlook 2002 on Windows XP Pro with SP-1 and all current patches. Outlook is a client for Exchange SP-3.
In day view, I see one less “all day” event than I have.
e.g. Today, I have two all day events, I see just one. On Thursday there are three, I see two. On Sunday, I have one and see none at all.
They display normally in week view, or if I select two or more days.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this problem

Is it the same all day event spanning multiple days that is not displayed, or are they different all day events?

        Different events.
The one being hidden is the last in the list of one day events. I think they are shown in alphabetic order.
For instance today the missing all day event is “Eid al Fitr (2nd day)”, If I add an event called ZZ, that is listed after Eid, and so Eid is now visible. If I add an event called DD, this is listed above Eid and is visible while Eid remains hidden.

Sorry, I can’t find anything relevant to this problem in the Knowledge Base or in the newsgroups. I hope that somebody else knows something about this.

I have just noticed that this problem only manifests itself if Outlook is maximised.
If I run it in a smaller window all events display correctly.

What happens if you display the calendar with Outlook restored (not maximized) and slowly increase the height of the Outlook window? You’ll notice that the appointment part of the calendar always displays whole hours, so that the space allocated for all-day events grows and shrinks. Perhaps the algorithm used for this is slightly inaccurate.

Yes, I think you are right
If I slowly decrease the size, the last appointment vanishes, reappears and vanishes again, this cycle continues. Clearly my screen resolution (1152 x 864) is just wrong for Outlook. I can see all of the appointments in maximised view if I change the resolution, change the font used in the calendar or increase the height of the task bar.
For now, a slightly different font size seems best.
              Thank you
