App windows opening and closing after updates

On Nov 8 my laptop installed KB5019980, KB5020622 and KB5020930.

After restarting, I noticed three or four app windows open and close very quickly.  The last was a command prompt.  I have never seen this before.  Is it something to worry about.  I have scanned for malware with Webroot.

It’s not unusual to see very quick flashes of app activity after installing updates and restarting. For example, the release notes for both KB5020622 and KB5020930 specifically mention the need to deal with .NET files that may be in use at the time, hence the need for a restart. (The commandline window could just be the result of calling NGEN.exe to optimise .NET after the updates.)

IMO you’re seeing normal behaviour for a first restart after updating. If this behaviour occurs after *every* restart then it would need looking into.

Thanks.  I only asked because I have never seen this before.  I pay close attention to updates in case anything goes awry.
