I am attaching a file and hoping that I see it as a link in the text.

An image of the file itself gets inserted into the content of the message. It doesn’t insert just a link.

I am trying to figure out how @Tom-R at #2310864 produced the link in the the text of his message.

I am going to try again, this time using the LINK choice in the message header.
my installed updates 08-Jun 2021.JPG and at the same time selecting the file as an attachment without “insert into content”.

But, this doesn’t work like @Tom-R’s post, because when I click on the LINK in the text of the message, nothing happens.

In @Tom-R’s post, when you click on the LINK in the text of the post, the image comes up.

I am going to try again to put a LINK in the text of the message (by clicking on LINK in the message box header) my installed updates 08-Jun 2021and at the same time attach the file with “insert into content.

          • #2370084

That didn’t work either. (Only change I made was not putting .jpg in the LINK).

So, how did @Tom-R get the LINK into the message post at #2310864

OK. Let me try again. This time it is a PDF file that is a LINK in the message box and an attachment, but I did not use the LINK icon in the header of the message box. I only attached the PDF file with “insert into content”. Because it is a PDF file it appears as a link in the message box. Same thing happens if the file is a .DOCX file

You will see that the height of PDF file page is not the standard 8.5″ x 11″. It is a custom page size: 8.5″ x 3.5″.

Here is a DOCX file that is a link in the message box and an attachment, but I did not use the LINK icon in the header of the message box. I only attached the .DOCX file with “insert into content”. Because it is a DOCX file, it appears as a link in the message box. I selected a custom page size: 8.5″ x 3.5″ To view it, you have to open it in WORD.
