• Autofilter Count Error? (2002)

I have that attached file that shows this problem. I have a single column with number of 0, 2, or 3. When I apply auto filter to it and select 0 I get 3151 out of 3440 records. When I select 2 I get 18 records. When I select 3 I get 271 records. Those 3 numbers totals up to 3440. The Auto fillter drop down menu does not show Blanks or NonBlanks so there aren’t any blank lines.

The problem is there are 3441 records in the file not 3440. I can not tell which code the missing records has!

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks much.

This is because row 1 acts as a column header; it is not included in the count. Insert a new row 1, and enter a header in A1. Turn the AutoFilter off, then on again. You’ll now get a count of 3152 for the zeros.

Thank you Hans! I didn’t think of the column header. Makes sense now. I just wasn’t using it correctly.

By the way, I didn’t mean to post the same question twice. The first time I clicked on the Post button I got the message that IE was shutting down do I want to send a message to Microsoft? When I got back on the internet I didn’t think to check if it actually got posted. I assumed it didn’t post. I should know better not to assume! Sigh.

Thanks again for the quick reply and have a good day!

Sometimes IE crashes if you hit the Post It button while text is selected in the message area, but as you found, the post may have gone through (or not grin).
