    I’m using Outlook 2000 sp-3 on a Windows 2000 sp-4 machine.

If I have the Windows taskbar set to AutoHide and I maximize Outlook, the taskbar doesn’t appear when I move down over the taskbar area. If I restore my Outlook window, the taskbar pops up fine.

Is this problem been documented by Microsoft? If so, where? Or if not, have others noticed this?

I know it would just be easier to turn off the AutoHide, but I have a user that doesn’t want to do that. Go figure.
(I’m posting this in the Outlook forum as well.)

      Hi Sarah,

Try this. Right click the task bar and select properties. Make sure that the box is checked for Always on top.

        Hi Joe,
Yes, the “Always on top” checkmark is checked.

I’ve found out that something I’m doing (while Outlook is maximized) is causing the taskbar not to pop up. Because if I close and reopen Outlook, the taskbar works fine.

I have a Outlook form that has a button on it. When click that button, the taskbar fails. The button opens an associated email from my Sent Items folder. Again, the taskbar fails when I press this button AND Outlook is maximized. If Outlook is in a “restored” state (the window is not maximized), and I press the button, the taskbar still works.

So yeah, stupid form. The Outlook form came from Esker, they have faxing integration with Outlook. I will see if they are aware of the problem or have a fix for it.

Thanks for replying to my post.
