Whilst you could use just Notepad to create and/or edit AutoHotkey scripts, it’s no fun. Instead, download a free code editor like SciTE4AutoHotkey to make things easier.

    1. Go to http://fincs.ahk4.net/scite4ahk/ and click on Installer.

    2. Run the downloaded installer and accept the User Account Control prompt by clicking on the Yes button.

    3. When the installer dialog opens, click on the Install button.

    4. Accept the defaults and click on the Install button.

    5. When the installation completes, click on the OK button to dismiss the popup.

    6. SciTE4AHK will open followed by a popup notifier about updates. Click the Yes button to proceed.

    7. A new UAC prompt will appear. Click on the Yes button to accept and dismiss it.

    8. When the updates are downloaded, click on the OK button to dismiss the popup then close the Updater window.

That’s it. SciTE4AutoHotkey is now ready for use.

    Hope this helps…
