Just got home from the doctor and one of the topics we discussed was OS system they were using. The answer was WIN 7 as it is the only stable system out there from medical purposes without putting patient files in harms. They just changed software and are keeping files private. So the medc world is using WIN 7 because it is the only OSA that can be controlled by user.

ManagerNovember 15, 2018 at 6:28 pm #233586I’m seeing Win7 too, in the fields where specialized software is required. Medical , dental, my veterinarian, small businesses where the software takes a long time to develop to specialized needs. They are not able to pay to have the software redeveloped on a frequent basis and don’t adapt well to constant changes. Many are not “Enterprise” size, either in the number of licenses or in the income to support it. I can only imagine the chaos an every-six-months upgrade would cause. They only have roaming tech support, not a resident IT department.

AskWoody_MVPNovember 16, 2018 at 9:41 am #233706I saw Windows 10 Pro and the doctors at this office were using Onedrive (personal version) instead of the VPN to store files because it was so much faster… Their IT support is extremely basic and the doctors are not even aware of the privacy issues surrounding Windows 10 and the use of the free Onedrive. They shouldn’t have to deal with this. They work more than 60 hours a week and have no time adapt to a tool that changes for reasons they absolutely not care about while not giving them the basic privacy they require.
