Some time ago, the font format in browser windows changed from black on white to small, thin and blue/grey fonts on a white background. The rumor had it that the black on white caused eye strain. Well,in my view the new type of font style with low contrast is close to unreadable, takes a lot more time to read, etc. And in many cases, the style is such that you can’t even see the entry boxes for User Id, Password, etc. I have reset the Google chrome fonts to the largest size, I have adjusted the screen resolution in Windows 8.1, but to no avail. Is there any hope for making the web site pages more visible? (Oh yes, I do use the CTRL+scroll trick and the Magnifier in windows but these are not solutions). One site ( I forget which one) gives me the option to change the style if I have difficulty reading the window. Why don’t they all do that? Kindle gives you option on font size, style and colore(black on white, white on black. etc.).

    Thanks.:o:

I use Firefox and have nice large black font on a white background. No sign of blue or grey.

      cheers, Paul

I use IE and FF and have black text on white background on most websites. However, some websites do seem to have fairly recently introduced styles for dimmer grey text; sometimes, especially with a coloured background, it can be harder to read.

You haven’t told us which browser you use, but most have customisable settings. In IE, for instance, the settings are in Internet Options under the General tab. In FF the settings are under the Content tab.
