Hi,
I just upgraded to Windows 7 Professional. I have several desktop shortcuts that I would like to put in a folder, but when I attempt to drag and drop them, nothing happens. What could I be doing wrong?
Thank you for any help you can give me.l

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

Hi my friend, try using the right mouse button, then follow instructions
I think what RR is referring to is that if you right click on the sshortcuts yoiu wish to move to a folder you would choose move to or copy to to do what you wish.
Wrong Ted, I mean , use the right mouse button to drag and drop a file from one drive to another. Try it, its easier done than said.
Moon, if you do not have those options on your context menu, you can obtain the Registry entry to do so from this How To Geek article.
Your left and right mouse button functions have not been reversed have they? What happens if you right click and drag/drop?
I am curious, did you do an in place upgrade or a custom install? Did you start your upgrade from within Windows Vista, or did you run everything from the Windows 7 DVD?
It sounds like Windows Explorer is misbehaving. Check out this tutorial on how to easily stop and then restart Windows 7 Explorer to see if that helps. If it does not, try running sfc /scannow in a Command Prompt window by going to Start menu>Accessories>right click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. This will check your system files for integrity and replace any corrupt or missing.
