• Cell merge/formatting (Excel/Word XP)

I don’t know if this is a Word or Excel question. I have an Excel spreadsheet and am trying to convert the cells to text so I can paste it into Crystal Reports. I’m copying the cells from Excel into Word and then doing a Merge Cells to get rid of the lines. Is there a way to do this but have it place tab stops where the table lines were so I don’t have to reformat all of it to look the same (without the cell lines)?

You can export to a tab-delimited text file directly from Excel (File | Save As…)
Or you can paste the table into Word, select the entire table, then select Table | Convert | Table to Text…, and specify Tab as delimiter.

I assume I must be missing something here? If so, please let me know what exactly you want to do in Crystal and I’ll try again …!
