Just recently I’ve noticed that changing text colour results in the span tags showing, for example post #2542232.

This is a test of red text.

This is a test of blue text.

EDIT: Hmm… that worked without any problem. I’ll screenshot it next time it happens to me, before going back in to correct it.

      Continuous <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>degrading of</span> innovation coming to Windows 11 in March

      That’s HTML code.

This is a test of red text. This is a test of blue text.

Are you using HTML code or bbcode in the above?

I’m just using the forum editor, no manual code at all… so whatever the editor outputs:

      editor_text_colour

I’ve seen it a couple of times recently and put it down to a glitch at my end. It was only when I saw a post from a guest with the same issue that I began to pay attention.

I couldn’t duplicate it in the test forum, hence why I posted that I’ll screenshot it if it occurs again.

      <span style=”color: #0000ff;”>this is a test</span>

I don’t have privileges for some of the editor functions that produce HTML.

      editor

When an AskWoody poster lacks privileges for some edit functions, when submitted the commands show as HTML

If you have editor privileges, with the editor tab you get colors.

Here is information regarding edit tabs including what does and doesn’t work for regular users:

I’m not sure what happens when an item created with privileges that another poster lacks is copied by another poster. (I have regular user privileges.)

For example, this copy shows no red and no blue:

This is a test of red text.

This is a test of blue text.

A copy in quotes does not produce the link:

I’ve seen it a couple of times recently and put it down to a glitch at my end. It was only when I saw a post from a guest with the same issue that I began to pay attention.

A copy without quotes produces text and picture:

I’m just using the forum editor, no manual code at all… so whatever the editor outputs:

      editor_text_colour
