Clearing ‘Open An Existing Database’ Entries (Access 97)

The very first screen that comes up in Access has as its 3rd choice “Open an Existing Database” and then a list of those databases. Some of them have been deleted but still show up on the list. How do I clear the list or update it so it reflects only those databases that actually exist or are available?

I maybe wrong, but I don’t think there is a simple way to affect this list, only by clicking on the

You would have to fiddle around with the Windows Registry, where the MRU list is stored, to clear list. See this MSKB article for details:
