    I have a e-machine desktop computer that has a problem. If I do a normal shutdown, everything appears okey. It shuts down completely and then in about 30 seconds it starts to restart again. I am not doing a restart, only a normal shutdown. I have never seen anything like this.

      Your network card doesn’t support Wake On LAN by anychance does it? A network request maybe turning the computer on for you.

      Does it do it every time? While you are looking at the wake on LAN setting in the BIOS, check also for Wake on PCI event, and wake on modem.
