Continuation slides

I’m using Powerpoint in Office 2000 with SR1. I have an outline from Word with some long lists under some of my Titles formatted with Heading 1 styles. The lists use other heading styles (mostly 2 and 3). Is there an easy way to create a continuation slide that repeats the title (maybe with cont’d appended) on a series of slides with the rest of the outline continued below? I have done this a couple of previous presentation packages that I have used, and this seems like it should be an easy thing to do. However, my initial efforts with Powerpoint do not reveal a way to do this. I could repeatedly insert the Heading 1 title to accomplish this, but that seems unnecessaryily difficult. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think you are referring to a suggestion to redesign the master slide. That will not help me too much with what I am doing however. I think I’m resigned to the fact that ppt is not as powerful as I expected. I do think that automatic continuation slides would be a nice feature to add. I recall using it extensively in a program called Concurrence.

I don’t think I can make you happy – but I can tell you how I would accomplish this.
I’d bring my Word outline into PPT. Then make sure I’m in Outline view. Create my Continuation slide (without points on it), then copy it to insert it at the point in the outline where I needed it. Repeatedly, until I had as many copies as I wanted.
The point here is the outline view, since I can use the outline tools, to organzie the content in the best hierarchy.

Thanks for your suggestion. That is essentially what I am doing although I’m not pasting the same slide as the title changes every time. I’m finding I need to do a lot of editing on each slide as I go from my lecture notes outline to ppt. Sometimes I duplicate the slide and delete the appropriate bullets to make the continuation slide.
