    Hi

This is very similar to [post=”794742″]post 794742[/post] posted by Jan 25 Sept.

I have set up a document that has a different first page header and I wish to copy the text from a bookmark on the first page into the header on the second page, if a second page is generated.

I have tried using the REF field but this only updates if I open the header and press F9. Not really what I want the punters to have to do!

    Any suggestions?

Would it be feasible to format the text with a unique style? You could then use the STYLEREF field, as suggested in the other topic. STYLEREF fields do update automatically.

BTW, REF (and other) fields in a header or footer are updated when the document is printed or print previewed if the user hasn’t changed the default setting that fields are updated when a document is printed.

Once again thanks a lot. That works just fine. I saw that reference but try to avoid creating special styles as I have had problems in the past.

      cheers
