Creating standalone slideshow in PowerPoint

I’d like to Create a Standalone Slideshow in MS Powerpoint. Searches on the web either don’t explain the types or the file-types from the various versions have me confused.

The slideshow I created is rather large so I’m hoping to learn how compact it and distribute it via email while knowing that recipients will not have to do any more than double-click on the attachment.

Here are the steps I’d take.

[*]Setup self timing for each slide/transition.
[*]Add narration if desired
[*]Turn it into a Video

The last step is necessary since you have the requirement for them to be able to just click on it and run. I interpreted this to mean you don’t want to require the viewer to have PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer installed on their computer.
