Currency format in table fields

I have a Word 2010 table, and a calculation {=sum(above)#$#,##0.00}. The problem I have is if the answer is below $1,000.00 then there is a space after the $ sign, eg: $ 500.00. I really want the dollar sign to be hard up against the text.

Any ideas?

This is really simple:
{=sum(above)# “$,0.00”}.
