Using Win7:
I don’t know what happened, and I’ve seen this from some 2010 posts on the Internet. After upgrading Thunderbird, my windows desktop screen went black, I can reboot and get a different screen, but working with the slide-show, it goes black again and won’t show the slide show. When I turn off the machine, as it’s shutting down I can see one of the photos of the slide-show, but on reboot the slide show still doesn’t come on even with the new background color showing.
I’ve tried turning on and off the transparency switch, which makes no difference…which is the hardest thing to find; what were they thinking?
It’s really not worth the time I’ve already spent trying to fix this, but if someone has a quick answer, I’d be interested.
About the same time as this happened I started getting garbage from my printers; HP 1020; Samsung 300 and 310 when trying to print emails using the new Thunderbird 5.
I don’t know if any of this was really caused with Thunderbird 5 or Firefox update, or all the plethora of Windows updates; either way it seems it needs a fix…and it has happened to others in the past without warning.
