    Greetings!
I have a situation were I have a list of identifiers that may or may not be the actual name of a person. The identifier is repeated throughout the file(in the same column A). I have another list that did not start out in Excel. It was brought in as text. The list has in column C lists of IDs and names, then a space. Column D is shifted UP one cell to align the ID in column B with a Name in column C.

I need to check column A against column C, when a match is found grab in coulmn C, grab the contents of corresponding cell in column C (same row) and place it in column B next to the identifier.

    I hope this is clear….

    Thanks,
    Brad

Are you looking for in B1:
      =VLOOKUP(A1,$C$1:$D$432,2,0)

      Copy it dwon to B2:B142
