    Hi,

My machine has XP as OS & 3 lan cards as follows:
1: Connected to internet, manual ip address & dns settings, no proxy server.
2: Connected to intranet, manual ip & dns setting, for local lan browsing
3: Connected to intranet, automatic settings, for printers etc.

Problem is whenever I try to browse local exchange server it resolves through public dns server & not through local dns, results in slow browsing.
I have a default route of metric 2 towards internet, and other specific routes through cards 2 & 3.
Is there any setting through which I can force the resolving of IP address of exchange server through local dns or can I make the name-ip resolve entry in any file of windows.

You could add the exchange server to the hosts file.

You could also remove 2 network cards and use a router/firewall to connect to the internet?

      cheers, Paul

Paul, installing a router is more expensive than using 3 lan cards.

True, but it’s more secure and potentially more reliable.

          cheers, Paul
