Document Assembly in Word

I have searched for and found several products that purport to make the assembly of documents quick and easy – on the whole they all rely on using a database of variables that need to be filled in for the document to be “filled in”.

I am looking for a means of assembling complex multiple section documents as well as combining individual form fields (that would be completed in context of the document).

Has anyone had experience or can point me to a solution?

Word has a plethora of tools you can use for document assembly.

The solution will include Building Blocks (AutoText). Paul supplied you with two excellent links on those. Here is one more link: Automated Boilerplate.

You may want to use a custom dialog box called a UserForm to put everything together.

These would all be stored in templates. See also How to Create a Template.

This is not a minor undertaking but you can start small. I would start with the AutoText. Add mapped content controls to the AutoText entries to allow insertion of the same information in multiple places.
