I want to be able to accurately advise clients about the use of USB drives for backups, especially thumb drives. Although I consistently tell them about finding the hidden icon (hurdle #1) used to safely remove a drive, there are users who simply can’t figure this out or won’t. So the next best option is to tell them to shut down the computer. However laptop users may consistently put theirs to sleep or simply close the lid. So my question is: Does sleep or hibernation flush the cache? Thanks!
