Can I run a DOS program in WinXP? If yes, then how do I do it?

As always, “it depends on what you mean by a DOS program”. Simple ones will probably work, but nasty gamey ones will probably fail, as CowboyDawg indicates…

I’m looking at a financial program that does a number of “What If” scenarios, e.g. What if the rate of growth of an investment is “X” %. It’s that kind of program.

Potentially that doesn’t sound as if it would be a problem. Can you find an XP machine to try it on?

You can safely try to run ANY DOS-based programs on WinXP using Program Compatibility Wizard (Start | All Programs | Accessories | Program Compatibility Wizard).
