Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

GuestJune 22, 2016 at 4:26 pm #40339Microsoft used a Surface Book for this benchmark.
How about running a test like this on a PC that is more in line with what most users own. A PC with the minimum RAM requirement for Windows 10 … 1GB for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit.
The Surface Book starts at 8GB (goes to 128GB).
Edge consumes RAM like a jumbo jet sucks in fuel and it is still not fully functional. MS promises it will do a lot more.

GuestJune 23, 2016 at 2:39 am #40340It’s not the browser which is a hog (although Chrome gets more that way the more tabs you have open). In all browsers except Chrome, it’s Extensions which slow opening, closing and performance, es[pecially anything which phones home before firing up, like AdBlock, Ghostery or a host of other so-called Privacy Extensions. (Yes, they all collect and retain user data.)
Bottom line is, with virtually no Extensions, of course Edge is fast. But at what cost in terms of functionality and usability?
