Edge not closing when multiple tabs in use

Windows 10 Home x64 (version 1607 build 14393.51)

I’ve just upgraded to Anniversary Update on test VM and not had time to install preferred browser. I used Edge and ended up using 4 tabs. Went to close Edge using the X on top-right.

In the Do you want to close all tabs? dialog I didn’t tick the Always close all tabs checkbox but just clicked on the Close all button. The dialog disappeared… but Edge remained. Tried again but this time ticked the Always close all tabs checkbox. Exactly the same… Edge won’t close.

Had to use Task Mangler to end the process instead. ROFL

Anybody else experienced this?

I found the answer… when Edge is displaying on one of the tabs a Welcome to Microsoft Edge webpage. I closed that and all is back to (almost) normal.

I don’t use Edge, so I thought I would try and see what would happen. I opened and then opened some tabs. I couldn’t then close it whatever I did. Well until I hit the x on the remaining tab (after closing each tab in turn) and it closed. Now it closes on the big X at the top right every time, however many tabs there are and what’s on them. Go figure!

Oh, wow! You’re right. All working fine now, except I no longer get the Do you want to close all tabs? dialog. Hilarious!

Similar problem. I can only get Edge to close multiple tabs if I close them one-by-one in succession …
