    Morning – and Happy Mother’s Day —

On email from a source I don’t recognize, if I right-click and choose “view message source,” am I ‘safe’ from the unknown?

    Thank you.

Not sure which of the following questions you’re asking (or something else…):

      (1) Does using view source let you interact with the message safely? If you want to know the true destination of a link in a message, then viewing the source will let you uncover that. But it won’t help with questionable attachments.

      (2) Does viewing source involve any security risks? As far as I know, the viewing of source, in itself, does not download anything new or send any information back to the sender, but I’ve only used this feature in Outlook, I’m not familiar with the AOL mail program.

        Thank you for the response.

Yes, I was concerned about the security risk and sending info back. Hopefully, AOL operates similarly to Outlook….
