I have few macros that I’ve added to my Excel 2010 Ribbon in a couple of Custom Tabs:

    46217-20161214-TRB-Marcos

    46218-20161214-Trading-Macros

They all used to work just fine, but after upgrading to Windows 10, then to the Anniversary Edition, now unfortunately some, but not all, of the macros in my “TRBs_Macros.xlam” file no longer work and produce the following error dialogue:

    46216-20161214-Excel-Macro-Error

I traced this to the fact that the “Customize Ribbon” dialogue indicates the incorrect path for the macro file for those macros that don’t work – referring to drive D:, but does indicate the correct path C:, for the macros that do work and are in the exact same “TRBs_Macros.xlam” file.

    Here is the incorrect path:

    46219-20161214-Add-File-Path-error

And here is the correct path:

    46220-20161214-Centre-Across-Columns-OK

There’s no point in trying to recreate the Custom Tabs as the selection references to “TRBs_Macros.xlam” are not correct.

I’ve tried a Microsoft Office Repair – no change.
I’ve searched the Windows 10 (1607) Registry for the offending location reference – not found.

Is there a configuration file some where that needs to be changed or deleted?

I’ve spent about 6 hours trying to resolve this and have now run out of ideas.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Many thanks for any clues the help resolve this issue, and super special thanks to the suggestion that solves the problem.

    Cheers

    Trevor

Have a look at the Excel.officeUI file in C:users%username%appdatalocalmicrosoftoffice

You’d be better off using the CustomUI part of the add-in to do your ribbon customisations – then it won’t matter where the file is.

        Hi Rory,

        Many thanks for the suggestion.

with Excel closed, I opened the “Excel.officeUI” file in Notepad++ and with a search quickly found the offending “D:” and replaced them with “C:”

        That resolved the issue completely:)

        Thanks again.

        Cheers

        Trevor
