We have created line charts with series for 2010, 2011, 2012 actual and 2012 goals. The charts look great, except that some of the lines of the charts are on top of other lines. This is especially true for the actual and goal of 2012. Is there a way to change the order of the lines on the chart? We would like the goal to sit on top of the other lines.

We tried changing the order of the series, but that only changes the legend order.

We noticed that on the Format tab for Chart Tools, there is Send Backward and Bring Forward, but these are grayed out. I think these are for objects only.

We have thought about changing the thickness of the lines, but not all the charts have the issue of lines so close together. We wouldn’t want to have the thickness different only on some charts.

    Does anyone have ideas?

Changing the order works for me. The first listed is the first drawn (furthest back). The goal should be last and it would sit on top.

Don’t know if this is an issue, but a series as a secondary axis are on top of those from the primary axis.

      Thanks, Steve.

In previous versions of Excel that is what I would have tried. This should work for our charts.
