I have a category report that seems to subtract a column after you select more than 6 of the categories. I’ve attached a sample. So if you open up the “frmSelectCategories” form, then select six categories, click “Next”, then select option “Category Report – Crosstab”, and click “run report”–now you can see that only five categories are listed there even though there is room on the page for another column or two. I don’t know why it’s doing this.

One other thing…is there any way to make this report continue on the next page with the columns if you select more than will fit horizontally on the page? And I guess I have one more question…can the headings be set up to print on the next line if they are longer than a certain number of characters? You should be able to see that some of the headings of the columns are cut off because the name is too long. Can you make it go down a line if the characters are longer than the field box, but have it break at a space? I hope I’m being clear enough.

Your tables are attached tables and are not in the attached db.
Can you provide a db with sample data ?

You will need to provide the BE database as well.

The report as currently designed has room for 8 categories (plus the total).
Not all categories have data in the database you attached, for example there are no records in tblInvoiceDetails for Refund ECS (FeeID=11). So if you tick the check box for Refund ECS in frmSelectCategories, there will be no column for it in the report, so you get one column less than you expected.

See post 35485 for an example of a report based on a crosstab query with an unlimited number of columns.

You can increase the height of the labels in the page header section of the report, long captions will wrap automatically. A height of about 0.3 inches is enough for 2 lines of text. Don’t forget to move the line under the labels down.
