Find function in PPTX: “Find whole words only” checkbox resets after each slide

I have a 150 slide PPT and I’m looking for the word “tag”. There are numerous instances of “staging” so I have selected “Find whole words only” in the Find dialog window. The only problem is that this selection is reset after each slide, making the selection box essentially useless.

Is there a setting where I can adjust selection box choices to apply to the entire PPT document. Baffling that this isn’t the default setting.

In my 68 slide PPT 2013 it works as expected, and will find all words like tag, but not staging (I added two slides with those words in). This was with both a pptm and pptx file. I can’t find any option to change that behaviour. I even selected enough slides that it only had one with tag/staged, but it still found the other one. I can’t see any way of selecting just one slide to search within it but not other slides (which could be useful sometimes).

To clarify- I’m trying to search the entire PPT presentation (150 slides) for “tag”
after searching the first slide with the Find whole words only option checked, the rest of the search undoes the Find whole words only option, and returns instances of “tag” in words like “staging”

To clarify, when I search for tag with whole words only, I find every instance of tag, but not staging. When I search, it works as you want, not as you’re getting. I couldn’t replicate your issue. I can only assume that you’re doing something different to me (what, I don’t know). It’s one of those situations where looking over someone’s shoulder as they do the action will probably get the comment “Oh, I see what you’re doing now”. Perhaps some screenshots of each stage might help others to see where the problem might lie.
