• Fixed Format Exports (Access 97)

    I am trying to export a table in a fixed-width format to a “.csv” file, and cannot get the blasted thing to give me the row headings . What am I doing wrong???

      If you are using File / Export to export the .CSV. One of the screens in the export process should have a checkbox that says something like include first row as header. Check the checkbox to get the row headings.

      If exporting table to text file, you can specify either fixed-width or delimited text format. A .CSV (comma-separated values) file is by definition delimited, not fixed-width. If exporting to delimited format than you can specify this option by checking “Include Field Names on First Row” box, as illustrated. If you export to fixed-width format, you do not have this option.
