copernicus seems to require the downloadingh of a program to use the search engine.

      I would not do that.

What do people think is the best online search engine that does not require such a download?

        Hi Howard
I have a javascript search-engine for a web page, but as it’s original code it’ll cost you. I don’t run a freebie service for those who sell their wares. And in case anybody thinks I’m being mercenary see this post

Have you looked into the Google Toolbar yet? It adds a toolbar to IE browsers (last info I have said Netscape support was in the works) that gives you customizeable advanced searches plus extras, without actually having to browse to Google. I find it to be very useful, and definately recommend it for anyone who uses Google frequently. thumbup
