• Former Access Programs Fail in 2010

I just installed Access 2010 and discovered that controls on a main menu form (like ones that call up other forms) in one of my apps no longer work whereas they worked with Access 2007 just fine. I click on them and nothing happens. Any idea what is going on here? I really need to keep the files in 2007 format as I run them on other computers that don’t have 2010. Do I need to do some sort of conversion or what?

I had downloaded the Office 2010 start up guide from Windows Secrets and it stated that when installing an update it would offer an option to retain a previous version which is what I planned to do. However, I never got any options — it just removed Office 2007 and installed 2010 not even asking for the Product Key. So far everything seems to run OK except for this problem with Access.

Have you dealt with the Trusted Locations issue?
Is there a warning when you open the database that “Certain content has been disabled?”
In 2010 once you enable the content here, it treats the database as Trusted from now on.

Other than that issue, I would expect the database to work without any changes being needed.

Thanks John. I had forgotten about the Trusted Content feature. Once enabled my apps work just fine.
