help needed with scheduling event

hello everyone;

i am running Thunderbird 24.3.0 and i am very happy with it.
it’s been useful to schedule my tasks and events.
there is one type of event, however which i’m having difficulty to find how to edit.
i want to schedule an event which will repeat annually, starting the first Saturday in November and ending the last Saturday in March.
any help, guidance and assistance will be appreciated.

Hopefully, you’ve received an answer to this but just in case…

There isn’t enough information to give you a definite answer so I need to make some assumptions:

1. IF this is an event that LASTS several months and runs across the end of the calendar year:

You will need at least two event groups to cross over the end of year boundary.
One event: Starts on first Sat in Nov and runs DAILY until 3/28 of the next year.
One each event to cover the odd days manually until the actual 4th Sat.

2. IF this is, for example, the period of Eastern Standard Time (or its Canadian equivalent), then all you may need is the two one-day events at each end:

The first Sat in November repeating every 12 months until some future year end date (i.e., 2019-12-31) and another on…
The last Sat in March repeating every 12 months until some similar ending date (i.e., 2019-12-31).

i should confess that i gave up.
decided to mark the events in a hard calendar (those things once we used a lot…………..paper), which hangs on the wall, and i glance at it to check if that event is active.

Why don’t you set up 2 events, one to tell you it’s started and one for finished.
