Help with Average Function (2003)

Greetings,

Had help with a subtotal function a while back.

Background: I have a worksheet where I have set autofilters on. The Subtotal function works great to show me the total of items displayed when I filter the data. I would like to do the same with the Average function.

Current for the Subtotal =SUBTOTAL(3,C4:C328)

Current for the Average =AVERAGE(E4:E243)

any ideas?

=Subtotal(1,E4:E243)

[You might want to look at SUBTOTAL in the Help as it indicates the “function numbers” needed to give different statistical functions…]

Yes the “subtotal” is a little bit of a misnomer, but you should have guessed that when you used it to COUNT rather than to SUM…
