I don’t have the least idea of what you’re doing or why you’re doing it with a query. Why have a field in a query if you want to hide it? And what does hiding a column have to do with filtering the data?

Basically, what I wanted to do is rather than build a new query, I wanted a macro to modify an existing query to certain specifications, one of which included hidden columns that I did not need to see when entering data.

That suggests you’re using queries to enter data, which is a BAD idea. If you use a form, you don’t have to hide columns in a query because you can select the columns you use in the form.
