I have “-copy” files on both my C: drive and OneDrive. (I had originally manually dragged files from C: to OneDrive before I learned how to synch the two, so they duplicated when I set up the synch.) I have manually deleted the “-copy” files from my C: which appears to also deleteHow delete “-copy” files in both C: & OneDrive at the same time them from OD, but it seems that synch copies the files “back and forth” so that all the copies again show up on both C: and OneDrive. How do I delete these from both drives without their ricocheting back and forth?

AskWoody LoungerOctober 24, 2023 at 5:17 am #2596598Not sure how your OneDrive is set-up, which folders you backup or not.. I think some powershell script could do that for you, but lets try it easy.
Basically – I would go offline on affected computer, delete these-copy files and stay offline.
On some other PC, I would log to your OneDrive via https://portal.office.com and also delete all those -copy files. Then I would go online again, wait for OneDrive to synchronise with your PC and nothing should come back..
If this does not work, let us know, we will try another way.Dell Latitude 3420, Intel Core i7 @ 2.8 GHz, 16GB RAM, W10 22H2 Enterprise

AskWoody PlusOctober 27, 2023 at 3:43 pm #2597685Worked absolutely beautifully!! Another person suggested that I first go offline and delete all copied files with a search of *-copy* on both my desktop and laptop, which saved me hours from how I had done it earlier. Then I followed your directions. The entire process worked within ten minutes, and I’m now a happy camper. Thank both of you so much! You’ve just earned by annual subscription amount.
