    How do I cancel a ‘pending’ Windows update install I don’t want/need.

    In this instance the update is .net 4.8

      Use wushowhide to hide the update, then clear the Windows Update cache.

      also cut off or disconnect from the internet while using wushowhide and clearing the WU cache

      All good ideas. Maybe not as good an idea but also turn Metered Connection to On until you are ready to update.

      (Metered Connection On only works if you are connected to the Internet; you are online.)
