I don’t know what you mean by “unread folder”, I’ll assume you mean New Mail. AOL should send all new mail there unless it’s Spam and then it should get sent to the Spam folder. Any mail you get that you consider spam can be marked as spam by you, and should thereafter, if it comes up at all, go into the Spam folder.
It seems there are many options and things that can be customized. That said, try going to settings and navigating to “viewing email” and “inbox style”. The picture shows the setting I have. Hope this helps.
Hi – I came across this item while trying a search on the problems I have been having with the AOL platform.
The most recent issue is mail not going into inbox, but directly into an unread email folder. I discovered the problem after learning I was not responding to mail sent from other board members – things that required a reply from me. I did a search on certain email addresses and all the emails showed up as being in my inbox – but they weren’t there. I looked in the unread mail folder and they were all there.
This problem comes on the heels of another one – trusted email addresses from board members and a couple of others appear as spam, with message all links are disabled. Trying filters hasn’t helped and there are no other settings in AOL mail that I can see to fix any of these problems.
There seem to be so many different versions of Aol anymore. It’s hard to keep up with them. I personally use the Aol website based email and it looks like what I’ve shown above. I don’t have that “unread” email folder, and therefore don’t have that problem. I don’t have any installed Aol program such as Aol Gold.
Try going on the Aol website, clicking on Email, and signing in from there. With a bit of luck you may see a difference. I made a bookmark in my browser which takes me directly to the Email and bypasses the full Aol website. I especially recommend that you try what I described in my post #2619449 if possible.
