• How does one view IE8 saved passwords

I cannot find the location, within Internet Explorer 8, the location of my Saved Passwords as I can in Firefox. I did an internet search and all I come up with are programs that allow me to view them – (Passview, etc). Where are the passwords stored? I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop.

You need a third party program to view the passwords.

Are there any recommendations for a good and safe 3rd party program? I have done a search and come up with “PassView” and “IE Password Revealer”.

          BarbieGee,

Please look at the NirSoft site:

          http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/internet_explorer_password.html

Their IE PassView program does a very good job of displaying passwords hidden inside IE. Beware though – your anti-virus and/or anti-malware program will be likely to block the download AND execution of the program. It is considered a HackTool, which it is, of course, but perfectly safe and legal when running it on your own computer.

          Good luck!
